Personalized Vascular Care
According to the National Institute of Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, in the United States, more than 8 million people age 40 and older have Peripheral Artery Disease, or PAD.
PAD is caused by atherosclerosis, or plaque buildup, that reduces the flow of blood in peripheral arteries—the blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart to other parts of the body. A correct diagnosis is important because people who have P.A.D. are at higher risk for coronary heart disease (CHD), heart attack, stroke, and transient ischemic attack (“mini-stroke”). Early diagnosis and management of PAD can help treat your symptoms and reduce your risk for serious complications such as non-healing wounds and amputation.
At The Cardiac & Vascular Institute, we specialize in both heart AND vascular care. Our Vascular Program is dedicated to the treatment and care of vascular disease and critical limb ischemia (those at risk of losing a limb due to poor circulation). Through continued research and innovative treatment methods, our cardiologists and vascular surgeons provide comprehensive care with superior outcomes.
If you or a loved one is in need of vascular care, look no further. The Cardiac & Vascular Institute’s team of expert cardiologists and vascular surgeons can handle any vascular problem you have, big or small.
